Best Gluten Free Mug Cake

Remember Mug Cakes? They were all the rage back in 2020 when we were stuck indoors with full pantries & nowhere to go. I still whip up a gluten free mug cake every now & then when I'm craving something sweet, but don't have the energy to drive to the store. Try out this simple, sweet recipe for yourself:

gluten free mug cake

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup blanched almond flour

  • 1 tbsp arrowroot starch

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • dash cinnamon

  • sprinkle sea salty

  • 3 tbsp oat milk

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil

  • optional: top with whipped cream & sprinkles


The Process

  • stir up the dry ingredients in a mug

  • once the dry ingredients are fully mixed, stir your wet ingredients (oat milk, vanilla, oil) into the mug

  • once everything is well-mixed, microwave for 2-2.5 minutes
