Garlic Black Bean Hummus

Inspired by a Natural Grocers' snack box that I believe to contain some of the best hummus, I created this very garlicy hummus recipe, & it's simple to boot! Check out this garlic black bean hummus recipe:


  • 2-3 scallion stalks (about 1/4 cup)

  • 2-4 stalks parsley (about 1/2 cup)

  • 5 cloves garlic

  • 5 tbsp avocado oil

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 lemon - fresh squeezed

  • 1 can garbanzo beans - I purchase Natural Grocers' Organic Garbanzo Beans (15.5 oz.)

  • 1 can black beans - I purchase Natural Grocers' Organic Black Beans (15.5 oz.)

  • salt, pepper + garlic powder to taste - I probably use over a tablespoon of each

The Process

  • chop garlic, parsley & scallions - add ingredients to food processor once chopped

  • add olive oil, seasonings & lemon juice to food processor

  • rinse beans using a colander, & then add to food processor

  • blend everything together using the Pulse or Chop mode on your food processor

  • add avocado oil as you blend your hummus

  • blend until fine, or however you enjoy your hummus :)
