Stress Fighting Foods

Feeling a little overwhelmed lately? You are not alone. Pretty positive everyone is feeling bouts of anxiety these days, & the media is only inducing that fear. So, put down your damn phone!
I know, we all love our phones, but place it far away when it comes to meal time. It is extremely difficult for your small intestine to absorb nutrients when your body is stressed/distracted, & you need those nutrients to keep your immune system up & running. Take a few deep breaths before you indulge to relax the central nervous system & feel your mood shift.
When mealtime does come around, you might want to focus on adding some foods that are known to fight stress & anxiety as well. So, where do you go from here & how do you choose these stress fighting foods?
Source foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids as they are the foundation for healthy brain development:
fatty fish/fish oil
Consume foods high in Anthocyanins*, which aid in dopamine production:
B Vitamins balance your mood by supporting your adrenal glad, which minimizes stress:
green leafy vegetables
Low Selenium levels are known to correlate with depression. If this is the case for you, be sure to get some Brazil Nuts into your diet as they are the world's richest source of selenium.
